Congratulations to Skokie firefighters Alex Berton, Nicholas Fontana, Connor Maloney, and Ray Roybskie for graduating from the St. Francis Hospital Paramedic Program!
The intense, 10-month program encompasses over 1,250 classroom and clinical hours. After graduation, the graduates must pass the National Registry Paramedic Exam for certification within the State of Illinois.

All Skokie firefighters also train to become paramedics. Why? The Skokie Fire Department responds to nearly 11,000 calls annually, and approximately 65 percent of those calls are to provide emergency medical service.
