The Skokie Health Department is now recruiting participants for the South Asian Healthy Lifestyle Initiative (SAHELI). Research shows that South Asians have a higher risk of heart disease compared to the general population. In order to help, the Health Department is partnering with Northwestern University to bring SAHELI to the Skokie community.

The study is designed to provide culturally appropriate nutrition and health education to lower the risk of heart disease in South Asians. For more information about the SAHELI study go to www.sahelistudy.org or email southasianhealth@skokie.org or call the Skokie Health Department at 847/933-8252.
