1. Where do fire poles come from?: The fire pole was invented in 1874 by Chicago Fire Captain David Kenyon. Fire poles are not used as much due to many firefighter injuries. Many other items were founded in Chicago like the fire hydrant, the collapsible fire escapee and even the familiar fire helmet "the Chicago helmet".

2. When did the first fire apparatus arrive in America?: In the early 1700's the first hand pumpers arrived from England. The hand pumper had long, parallel handles that required many volunteers to pump up and down rapidly, pumping water from the machine's tub. These pumpers far exceeded the capabilities of the bucket brigades. American manufactures copied and refined these machines and used them for almost 100 years.

3. In the 1800's what was developed in England that changed the technology of firefighting?: The steam pumper was created. Steam was created by firing the boiler with coal.
The power created was transferred to enable the unit to supply water to hoses. The steam pumper could supply a continuous stream of water more effectively and with far less man power than hand pumpers.

4. Who pulled the steam pumpers to the fire scene?: These pumpers were hand drawn by firefighters. It was not until the 1850's that horses were used to pull the apparatus. This period coincided with the introduction of paid firefighters.

5. In the hit T.V. show of the 70's "Emergency!" what were the names of the paramedics?: Johnny Gage and Roy DeSoto.

6. On October 9, 1871 the infamous "Chicago Fire" killed 300 people, but there was an even more tragic fire that same day that killed 1200 people. Where was that fire?: Peshtigo, Wisconsin. For more information pertaining to the Peshtigo fire, visit the

7. How long have fire sprinkler systems been in use?: Fire sprinkler systems have been putting out fires since 1860. There have been many design improvements, however; the basic technology has remained the same. For more information visit the website for the

8. Why do some fire apparatus display a green warning light? Why is it there? Why are red and green lights on fire stations?: A former Chicago fire commissioner, Albert Goodrich (1927), had family ties to the shipping business and he himself was a boating enthusiast. He must have felt it made sense to incorporate these lights into the fire service to determine the direction apparatus were responding and to indicate where fire stations were located; very much like red and green lights were used for navigation.

9. What is a bucket brigade?: It refers to an early method of firefighting before hand-pumped fire engines. The firefighters would pass buckets to each other to extinguish the blaze. Before firefighters arrived all able-bodied citizens would run to the scene with buckets. A double line would be formed from a water source and filled buckets would be passed up the line to the fire, where the water was thrown at the burning structure. The empty buckets would be quickly passed back, via the second line of people to be refilled.

10. What are fire grenades?: A fire grenade was a bottle of thin and fragile glass that was designed to be thrown on the fire and to break easily, therefore, the contents would extinguish the flames. You could often find them in homes and buildings around the turn of the century. The grenades were filled with various liquids; however, carbon tetrachloride seemed to work the best.

The grenades are very collectible today. They may come in many different colors and shapes. If you are lucky enough to find one, remember, they were made to be broken and destroyed, so use extreme caution in handling these grenades. 11. Who invented the "modern" portable fire extinguisher?: The portable fire extinguisher was invented by Captain George William Manby in 1819. It consisted of a copper vessel of 3-gallons of pearl ash (potassium carbonate) solution under compressed air pressure. Over the years, many effective fire extinguishing agents have been discovered but, their use was discontinued because of side effects such as toxicity. 12. What is a "Squirt"?: In the middle ages a "squirt" was used to extinguish fires. It looked like a bicycle pump. The nozzle was dipped into water and only about 1-litre of water was pulled up using the plunger. The charged "squirt" was then directed at the fire and the plunger pushed to eject the water. It is said that "squirts" were used in 1666 on the Great Fire of London. Guess they were not too effective!

13. Who is St. Florian?: St. Florian Mart A.D. 304 has been long regarded as the patron saint of Poland, Linz, and upper Austria. Many miracles of healing have been attributed to him. He is known as a powerful protector of danger from fire or water, making him the Patron Saint of Firefighters.

14. What is the Star of Life?: The Star of Life is a blue, six-pointed star, outlined with a white border which features the Rod of Asclepius (an ancient Greek symbol associated with astrology and healing of the sick). It consists of a serpent entwined around a staff. Traditionally, it represents emergency medical services (EMS) units and personnel. A similar orange star is used for search and rescue personnel.

15. Who were the "Prowlers"?: They were an organization formed following the fire wardens. They were furnished with buckets, hooks and ladders. They were often called the "rattle watch". They patrolled the streets during the night looking for fires.

16. Where did organized fire fighting in America begin?: It began in New York (New Amsterdam) in 1648. A fire watch of eight "Wardens" were required each day, and every male citizen had to stand watch.

17. What should I know about fire horses?: In the 1850's horses became an integral part of urban fire fighting. This is due in part to equipment becoming heavier. Systems were developed to quickly harness the fire horse teams. Often, when the alarm sounded, stall doors would open and the horses were moved below their suspended harness.

The harness, complete with collars, was placed on their backs and secured in place by the driver. The entire process could be completed quickly. Speed of response was and continues to be essential in fire fighting. Percherons (Draft Horses) were often selected as fire horses due to their speed and strength.

18. Do you know what a novelty lighter is?: It's one that works like any other lighter except that it looks like a child's toy. There are literally hundreds of lighters disguised as toy animals, cell phones, key rings, balls and other colorful items that are attractive to children. If you have novelty lighters, please remove them. Let's protect our children and our community from the dangers created by these unsafe products.

1. What is the zoning of my property?: Please view our Zoning page.

2. What are the building size restrictions for my property?

The size of the building or addition depends on the zoning district in which it is located. Each zoning district restricts the size of a building by establishing separate setbacks and lot coverage (footprint of building and accessory structures) requirements. In single-family and two-family residential districts (R1, R2 and R3) buildings must also comply with impermeable surface and Floor Area Ratio (F.A.R.) requirements.

In residential districts, only a limited amount of the lot may be covered with materials that do not allow water to be absorbed by the ground (buildings, patios, sidewalks, etc.) The impermeable surface requirement varies by zoning district. The F.A.R. requirement states that the maximum floor area of an existing or proposed building cannot exceed 60 percent of the lot area. The F.A.R. is a ratio of the area of a building to the area of a lot.

As the regulations effecting building size very by zoning district and some restrictions such as impermeable surface and F.A.R. require extensive calculations, it is best to contact Building, Zoning & Property Standards Division of the Community Development Department at 847/933-8223 before planning your project.

3. How long does it take to get a Zoning Variance or Special Use Permit?: Generally Zoning variances take about 35 - 40 days and Special Use Permits take about 90-120 days, depending on the number of cases awaiting a hearing.

4. Do I need a permit to install a fence on my property?

Yes. A fence permit is only required when a fence is installed or replaced. When applying for a fence permit the following items are needed:

Length and height
A recent Plat of Survey
Two copies of the Site Plan showing the proposed fence location
A signed copy of the Application for Accessory Structure Permit

It typically takes one to three working days to issue a fence permit once an application is received. The fence permit fee is $50 and covers the permit review and all inspections.

5. Do I need a permit to install a new roof on my home?: A replacement roof does not require a permit. This rule applies to "tear-offs" as well as installing new roofing material. Permits are required if the size or structure of the roof is altered. Always verify that the State of Illinois has licensed your roofing contractor.

6. Does the Village issue licenses for home occupations?: The Village does not issue licenses for businesses operated from one's home, although we do regulate the type of business that can be operated from a home. If your bank insists on a license prior to establishing an account, a letter from the Village License Officer stating that the Village of Skokie does not issue business licenses for home occupations is available at the Building, Zoning & Property Standards Division counter.

9. What should I do if I notice graffiti on my property or elsewhere in the Village?: Contact the Police Department at 847-982-5900. A police report will be filed and forwarded to the Property Standards Division for follow-up. The Graffiti Ordinance requires removal by the property owner within ten days. 10. What parts of Skokie are in a flood plain?: All of Skokie is designated as "No Special Flood Hazard Area - All "Zone X" (NSFHA) by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The channel section located along McCormick Boulevard is in "Zone A". Skokie is not mapped by FEMA and Skokie’s Community Identification Number is 171000.

11. How can I comment on a Zoning Board of Appeals or Plan Commission case?: All Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) and Plan Commission cases are presented at public hearings. All citizens are welcome to attend these meetings. If you cannot attend, signed and dated letters addressed to the Commission Chairperson are accepted at the Planning Division offices in Village Hall and may be read into the record at the public hearing. 1. What does the Corporation Counsel's Office do?: The Corporation Counsel's Office provides professional legal services to the Village as a legal entity. These services include:
- Providing day-to-day legal advice to the Mayor, Board of Trustees, Village Manager and Village staff
- Representing the Village in all litigation to which the Village is a party
- Review and drafting of contracts involving the Village

2. I need an attorney, can the Village help me?: The attorneys who work in the Corporation Counsel's Office are not permitted to give legal advice to the public. There are a number of legal referral agencies to contact for information, including the Chicago Bar Association at 312-554-2001 or the Cook County Bar Association at 312-630-1157.

Elderly and low-income individuals may also contact Cook County Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago at 847-475-3703. Senior citizens living in Niles Township may contact the Township office at 847-673-9300 to schedule an appointment for legal counsel.

3. Can you please tell me when my court date is?: No. The Clerk of the Circuit Court prepares all court dockets. The phone number for the Clerk of the Circuit Court in Skokie is 847-470-7250. Please refer to your ticket number when speaking with the Clerk's office.

5. I can't make my court date, can I get a continuance?: The Corporation Counsel's Office is not permitted to agree to continuances outside of the courtroom. You may want to ask a family member, friend or your attorney to appear on your assigned court date and time and request a continuance on your behalf.

6. I received a ticket for a minor traffic violation, can you tell me what will happen?: If you plead guilty, the judge will consider input from you and the police officer along with any other evidence that may be presented, such as your driving record, in reaching a decision and ordering appropriate sanctions. Some typical court orders for routine traffic violations are payment of a fine, supervision or traffic safety school.

If you plead not guilty, a trial will be held, usually the same day, and the judge will listen to testimony, review relevant evidence and make a determination of guilty or innocent.

7. I am having problems with my neighbors, can the Village help me sue them?: No. The Village does not give legal advice on personal matters. The Village's Office of Human Services has a Neighbor Dispute Program that provides non-legal, mediation assistance to help resolve some neighbor-to-neighbor problems. Electoral Referendums

1. What is the Skokie Village Board’s role in implementing the referendum?: The Village Board is committed to a professional and transparent process for implementing the electoral referendums approved by voters and they delegated the responsibility of overseeing the project to the Village Manager. In June 2023, the Board approved a contract with Klein, Thorpe & Jenkins (KTJ) to assist the Village in implementing the three referendums in compliance with election laws. Following the public process to develop a proposed electoral district map and implementation plan, the Village Board will review the recommended proposal and will be responsible for approving a final map and implementation plan. This approval will include Village ordinances and ultimately codifies the changes in the Village code. Members of the public will have the opportunity to provide comments to the Village Board on this issue, as they do with all issues that come before the Board.

2. Will information on electoral referendums implementation be available in multiple languages?: The Village implemented a Google Translator tool on its website, www.skokie.org, many years ago. This tool is capable of translating web pages into more than 130 languages. Information and updates posted on the Electoral Changes web page can be translated using the tool. In addition, the Village’s three public meetings were streamed and are now available on the Village’s YouTube channel, which offers automatic closed captioning in many different languages. Public comments in any language are welcome.

3. How will the terms be staggered?

The draft implementation plan proposes staggering terms as shown in the chart below:

4. Which elected official (i.e. Mayor, Clerk, at-large Trustees or district Trustees) will serve the two-year terms?: The draft implementation plan proposes that District Trustees will serve an initial two-year term beginning in 2025 and beginning in 2027 will serve four-year terms going forward. This initial two-year term is necessary to transition from elections currently held every four years to elections held every two years.

5. Do district trustees have to be residents of their respective districts?

Yes. Illinois Municipal Code requires that a person running as a trustee from a district as part of a hybrid election system have been a resident of that district for at least 6 months prior to their election, and that only electors (voters) of a district shall elect a trustee from that district.

This state requirement is not addressed in the Village’s proposed ordinance so as not to be duplicative.

6. Were the addresses of the current trustees considered during the mapping process?: No.

7. Are you meeting with the current Village Board, the Skokie Caucus Party, or any other community group regarding the implementation of these referendums?: No. The Referendum Implementation Team is holding several public meetings to provide information and solicit feedback from all interested community members and organizations.

8. Will the boundaries of my district be the same as my current precinct?: Probably not. Although following existing political and legislative boundaries to the extent possible is a positive outcome, it is not a guiding principle in the Village’s districting process. When drafting the proposed district maps, the Referendum Implementation Team followed a set of “districting principles” that can be found at skokie.org/electoralreferendums.

9. Was income considered when developing the proposed districts?: The consultant and Village staff followed a set of “districting principles” that can be found at skokie.org/electoralreferendums. Income was not a defining principle and is not a Voting Rights Act issue.

10. Will Village services change as a result of creating four districts?: No. Village budget dollars or Village services will not be distributed or organized based on districts. Although districts are intended to give specific individuals and geographic areas a distinct voice, district trustees will continue to serve with the fundamental and overarching goal of the unified and harmonious operation and progression of the Village as a whole.

11. Will the Village budget increase because of the new election format and the need for additional elections?: Outside of the initial implementation costs of $50,000 and redistricting costs every 10 years following the completion of the census (estimated at approximately $15,000) there are no real costs to the Village of the three referendums or the new electoral system. There will likely by an increased time commitment on the part of the Village Clerk depending on how many people file to run for trustee or the number of petitions that are challenged.

12. Why are there four districts versus five that are recommended in State election law for municipalities Skokie’s size?: The citizen-initiated referendums called for a hybrid representation system with four districts. As Skokie is a home-rule municipality, the referendum supersedes this section of State election law.

13. Who is a part of the Referendum Implementation Team?: Mapping consultant Peter Creticos from the Institute for Work & the Economy, attorneys Jason Guisinger and Scott Uhler, partners at Klein, Thorpe & Jenkins, Village Manager John Lockerby, Assistant Village Manager Nick Wyatt, Management Analyst Alex Franz, Purchasing Director Michael Aleksic, Communications Manager Meredith Gioia and Communications and Community Engagement Director Patrick Deignan.

14. How was community input considered and incorporated into the district mapping process?: All community feedback and comments were shared with the Village’s referendums implementation team, which discussed and worked to implement these suggestions while considering the Village’s districting principles.

15. In the proposed map, why does District 4’s proposed northern boundary extend to Greenleaf Street between Gross Point Road and Terminal Avenue?

In order to evenly balance district populations in accordance with the “one person, one vote” principle, the Village is proposing extending the northern boundary of District 4 to Greenleaf Street between Gross Point Road and Terminal Avenue.

This accommodates public input received from residents living west of Lockwood, between Main and Dempster Streets, and maintains Greenleaf Street as a common north-south divider between portions of proposed Districts 1 and 4 and Districts 2 and 3.

Although Main Street is a major thoroughfare, using it as the exclusive divider between Districts 1 and 4 resulted in draft maps with populations that were not balanced.

16. Why did proposed District 2 boundaries remain the same in all of the draft maps presented?

As part of the district map development process, the Village’s mapping consultant and implementation team considered and tested a variety of potential boundaries for all four districts, including District 2, while also considering the Village’s guiding districting principles.

Skokie Boulevard and Gross Point Road are major thoroughfares in Skokie and serve as natural east-west dividers between proposed District 1 and 2, while the golf course and Dempster Street serve as natural boundaries for a large portion of the district’s south. Extending the district’s remaining southern boundary to Greenleaf Street east of Crawford Avenue takes into account feedback received from communities of interest, allows School District 65 to remain entirely within one electoral district, and maintains a near-ideal population balance in accordance with the “one person, one vote” principle.

17. Did the Village’s Referendums Implementation Team consider using Niles Center Road as an eastern boundary of District 1?

Yes. The Village considered all public comments and feedback received during the map development process, and considered many potential district boundaries.

Due to the large population contained in the area between Skokie Boulevard, Niles Center Road and Gross Point Road, shifting this geographic area from proposed District 2 to District 1 would require significant changes to all other proposed district boundaries in order to maintain an even population distribution, resulting in a map that would not adhere to the Village’s districting principles as closely.

18. Why are some school districts divided into more than one electoral district?

In developing the proposed map, the Village’s consultant used school districts as proxies for communities of interest. Public testimony provided guidance to other communities of interest. The consultant incorporated school district boundaries to the extent possible while also considering other guiding districting principles.

Populations within Skokie’s seven elementary school districts vary greatly, ranging from a low of 294 to a high of 22,021 for School District 68 (the ideal trustee district population is 16,956). Exclusively following Skokie school district boundaries as part of the Village’s electoral district mapping process would result in an unconstitutional map.

Emergency Vehicles For Safer Driving FAQs

1. What steps should drivers take to ensure they can hear the approach of an emergency vehicle?

When windows are closed, drivers should remain alert for flashing lights by looking in their rear view mirrors. Radio or stereo systems should be set at a level that allows sirens or horns to be heard. Cellular phone users should concentrate on safely operating the vehicle and maintain an awareness of their surroundings.

Motorists with cellular phones should use hands-free features, such as speakerphone and voice dialing, or have a passenger dial the call.

2. Should motorists stop when they see or hear an emergency vehicle approaching with emergency lights and siren operating?: Yes. Upon the approach of any emergency vehicle giving audible signal by siren, the operator of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way by pulling to the right-hand side of the roadway until the emergency vehicle has passed.

3. What should drivers do on a multi-lane road when they are in the middle lane and the emergency vehicle is in the right lane?: Pull over to the left side of the road and stop until the emergency vehicle has passed. Always use common sense when driving on a multi-lane road.

4. When drivers approach an emergency vehicle scene, what precautions should they take?: Do not make the emergency scene worse. Drivers should maintain a safe driving speed, keep their eyes on the road and follow directions from authorized personnel. Be aware that other emergency vehicles may be approaching the scene.

5. At a fire scene, can motorists drive over a fire hose stretched across the street?: No, unless a fire department official gives them permission.

6. What should drivers be aware of when approaching a fire station?: Upon approaching a fire station, motorists should be aware that fire department vehicles may be entering the street responding to a call for help. If this happens to you - stop - and allow the emergency vehicle or vehicles to proceed.

7. Is it illegal to follow an emergency vehicle too closely when the warning lights and siren are operating?: Yes. A driver should not follow an authorized emergency vehicle responding to a call or alarm closer than 500 feet. A driver should not park his or her vehicle within 300 feet of fire department vehicles that have stopped at an emergency scene. Also, do not attempt to follow an ambulance that is transporting a patient to the hospital.

8. Do pedestrians have the right-of-way over an emergency vehicle responding with lights and siren operating?: No. Pedestrians should remain on the sidewalk and wait until the emergency vehicle has passed. Pedestrians should always exercise caution and be aware of their safety.

9. While responding to a call for help, what can emergency vehicles do that motorists cannot?: An operator of an emergency vehicle must have warning lights and siren operating to do the following:
- Drive the Wrong Way on a One-Way Street
- Exceed the Speed Limit
- Proceed Through Stop Signs and Stop Lights
- Travel in Opposing Traffic Lanes

While emergency vehicles can disregard traffic laws, operators must drive with due regard for the safety of all persons using roadways.

10. When an emergency vehicle is approaching me on a divided highway, do drivers have to pull to the right and stop?: No, because the road is separated by a barrier or median. Occasionally an emergency vehicle may travel in the wrong direction on a divided highway. If this occurs, reduce your speed, yield the right of way and proceed cautiously.

1. If Skokie has had a property tax freeze since 1990, why are my property taxes always going up?: Skokie is only one taxing jurisdiction out of the more than a dozen different taxing bodies. Schools comprise approximately 68% of an average property tax bill and increase each year as permitted by tax caps and/or approved referendum.

2. If my property assessment is the same as last year, why is my tax bill so different from year to year?: Many factors impact the final property tax bill. First, other than Skokie, the levies of many agencies increase each year. This is particularly true for school districts. Second, the value of the homeowner's exemption has changed a number of times recently making comparison to prior years extremely difficult.

Finally, as a result of property assessment appeals, your property may change in proportion to the Village as a whole. While any single residential property is a very small portion of the Village, large properties that receive downward assessment spreads the tax burden across all other properties in Skokie.

3. What is the sales tax in Skokie?: The sales tax in Skokie is 10.25% on general merchandise and 7.25% on the purchase of a motor vehicle. The Illinois Department of Revenue collects and distributes sales taxes. The Village receives a 1% local tax share plus 1.25% local Home Rule Sales Tax.

4. What is the deadline for purchasing a Village vehicle license each year?

Vehicle licenses must be displayed August 1 of each year. For vehicles previously licensed by the Village, a license renewal form is mailed around June 1 and the new licenses may be purchased between that date and July 31 of each year.

Vehicles that are registered within the boundaries of the Village according to the Illinois Secretary of State records will be ticketed for failure to display a valid vehicle license after July 31. Vehicle licenses may be renewed during the purchase period online at the

E-Gov Services page.

5. How am I billed for water?

The Village charges a uniform water rate of $57.56 (October 2022) per 1000 cubic feet of water that flows through your water meter. The water rate is revised periodically by the Village. Property owners are billed four times a year for three months of water usage.

The Village's Utility Billing team issues both paper and email utility bills. The quarterly statement is mailed to the address of record, or emailed for those customers that have opted to receive only electronic statements. In addition, online access to each utility account is available through the BS&A Utility Portal. Property owners or responsible parties have thirty (30) days in which to make the payment. Should your payment not be received by the Village in the thirty day period, a 10% late penalty will be added to your bill. The original due date and charge as well as the charge inclusive of the penalty is noted on your regular quarterly bill.

6. Can I pay my water bill online or automatically through my checking account?: Yes. The Village currently offers two options for electronic payments. Automatic Bank Payment allows you to pay your water bill directly through your checking account.

7. I received a parking ticket, how do I schedule a hearing date to contest the ticket?: Request for a hearing must be made in person at Finance/Collections window in Skokie Village Hall or in writing to the Parking Enforcement office. You may call Parking Enforcement office at 847-933-8421 to find the earliest date and times that are available.

You may also file a contest of your ticket through the mail if you choose not to appear in person. You can only contest a ticket within 21 days of the date of the violation either by mail or by a hearing.

8. Who can answer questions about my property tax bill?: Property taxes are both assessed and paid through Cook County. The Cook County Assessor can answer questions regarding the calculation of your property tax and handle appeals. The local number is 847-470-7237. The Cook County Treasure handles the collections and refunds of property tax payments. Please call 312-443-5100.

9. How can my firm be placed on the Village bidder's list?: Firms interested in being placed on the Village bidder's list should address a letter to the Purchasing Division, indicating the types of goods and services the firm can provide. The firm will then be solicited when the Village is in need of the type of item that the firm can supply.

Fire Department

1. How does the strength of fire protection in the community affect property owner’s insurance policy premium?: Part of the premium is determined by the strength of the fire protection provided to the property by the Village. The quality of fire protection for a given area is determined by an organization sponsored by the insurance industry. This organization is known as the Insurance Services Office (ISO). ISO grades fire protection for an area on a 1 to10 grading system (1 being the best). The Village of Skokie has an ISO Class 1 rating.

2. When I call for an ambulance, why do I sometimes see an ambulance from another town?: The Village has mutual aid agreements with many neighboring towns so that calls are handled expeditiously. During the course of a day it is not unusual for two or three calls for an ambulance to come in at the same time. If all of Skokie’s ambulances are busy, one from the next available town will be dispatched.

You may see ambulances and equipment from Niles, Morton Grove, Lincolnwood, Evanston or Wilmette. The mutual aid agreements work both ways; therefore, Skokie ambulances can be dispatched to the other municipalities.

3. When I call an ambulance, why does a fire engine also come?: All members of the Skokie Fire Department are medically trained and assist the ambulance personnel with medical aid and carrying and lifting equipment.

4. Why do I see fire engines or ambulances go through intersections with their red lights flashing, and then turn them off? Are they just in a hurry to go somewhere?: Emergency lights and sirens are used only when responding to a call. Apparatus responding to calls are frequently canceled, or the first arriving unit determines that the call is not an emergency and tells other units to respond in a non-emergency mode, or to return to their station.

5. The alarm on my carbon monoxide detector just went off, what do I do?: If your CO detector goes off and you feel ill, leave the house and call 9-1-1. If you don't feel ill, push your detector's reset button. If the alarm goes off again after a few minutes, open the windows, leave the house and call 9-1-1.

6. Why do firefighters break windows and cut holes in roofs when the fire is inside a building?: It may appear that by breaking windows or cutting holes in roofs cause more damage than the actual fire. However, internal building fires create a lot of heat and smoke and firefighters must remove the heat and smoke before they can get close enough to put out the fire.

Heat and smoke rise, so cutting a hole in the roof and breaking out windows in planned locations force smoke to vent upwards, allowing cool air to enter the building from below. This is called “ventilation”. This also improves visibility and lowers heat conditions for the firefighters inside, allowing them to quickly and safely extinguish the fire. Heat and smoke can cause extensive damage; ventilation will actually reduce overall damage to a building and contents.

7. I need to take a CPR course, does the Skokie Fire Department teach courses?: Yes, the Skokie Fire Department offers CPR Courses on a regular basis. If you are interested in signing up for the next class simply call 847-982-5340 and ask to be put on the CPR class list. You will be notified when the next class will be offered.

8. Where can I get my blood pressure checked?: Blood pressure testing is done at all three Skokie Fire Stations any day of the week between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

9. Can I schedule a fire engine presentation or station tour?: Yes, contact the Fire Department at 847-982-5340 and they will be happy to assist you.

10. How are members of the Skokie Fire Department hired?: In order to be hired as a Skokie Firefighter/Paramedic, candidates must be between the ages of 21 and 35 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED and at least one of the following: 60 semester hours, State of Illinois Firefighter II Certification issued by OFSM or four years of active military service with an honorable discharge.

Candidates must take a written examination and pass a physical ability test. These tests are offered by the Village every two years. Successful candidates are then placed on an eligibility list.

11. What do firefighters do when they are not responding to fire or emergency medical calls?

Firefighters must train in some capacity every day. They are required to train an average of 20 hours in fire related training and three hours of emergency medical continuing education each month. Firefighters also have to assist the Fire Prevention Bureau with commercial fire inspections. Combined they are responsible for 3,000 inspections annually.

Firefighters also are responsible for cleaning and maintaining equipment and the fire stations. Occasionally, during non-emergency periods, firefighters drive around town and touring buildings to become familiar with Village streets and neighborhoods as well as business districts. This saves valuable time when actually responding to emergencies.

The rest of their time is spent preparing meals, reading, studying, exercising and sleeping. However, firefighters are trained to always be alert and prepared to answer emergency calls.

12. When I see an emergency vehicle approaching while I am driving, should I always pull over to the right and stop?

State law dictates that vehicles yield to emergency vehicles that are operating their emergency lights and siren. Emergency vehicle drivers are taught to pass on the left whenever possible when responding in an emergency mode.

When safe, slow down, pull over to the right, and stop. However, there are circumstances where that may not be possible (if your car is already stopped, and you don't have anywhere to pull over). Simply stay put until the emergency vehicle goes around you.

Blocking the Route

If you are blocking the route of the emergency vehicle, and you are able to pull ahead and over into a clear area, use your turn signal to indicate your intentions, and proceed at a safe speed. Never slam on the brakes and stop in the middle of the road when you see apparatus approaching.

Make no sudden moves. If an emergency vehicle is approaching from the opposite direction, you should pull over and stop. You have no idea if they are proceeding down the road, or are planning on turning into a driveway or intersection right in front of you.

Opposite Direction

You are not required to slow down or pull over for emergency vehicles that are responding in the opposite direction on a divided highway. Do not tailgate, "draft," or follow a responding apparatus closely. Not only is this illegal, you run the risk of collision as vehicles pull back out into traffic after the emergency vehicle goes by.

4. Is smoking regulated in the work place and public places in Skokie?: The smoke-free Illinois Act went into effect on January 1, 2008 which prohibits smoking inside public places, workplaces and outdoors within 15 feet of entrances, exits, windows and ventilation intakes.

5. Where can I rent a car safety seat when my grandchildren come to visit?: The Skokie Health Department offers a short-term car seat loaner program for Skokie residents. 7. My power went off for several hours. Is the food in my refrigerator and freezer safe to eat?: This depends greatly on two factors, how long the power was interrupted and whether you opened the refrigerator or freezer doors after your power was lost. Most refrigerators and freezers not opened after a loss of power will maintain temperature for quite some time. Refrigeration units can usually maintain a safe temperature for 8 to 12 hours; while freezers, if kept closed, can maintain a safe temperature for 24 to 48 hours. If the refrigeration or freezer units have been opened, much of the temperature holding capacity has been lost.
If your power is interrupted for more than four hours, the rule of "When in doubt, throw it out" applies to foods in your refrigerator. The foods in the freezer may be used if not completely thawed for more than four hours.

8. Can I keep chickens in Skokie?

No, keeping of chickens and other livestock (cattle, goats, horses, swine, poultry, etc.) is not allowed in the Village of Skokie. Periodically the Mayor and Board of Trustees have Staff review code requirements and policies pertaining to their departments. The keeping of chickens within Skokie Code Section 18-7 “Keeping livestock” was reviewed and evaluated in early 2020 by the Health Department.

The practice associated with keeping chickens has a great potential to attract rats. The Village of Skokie has an aggressive rat control program that includes inspections for rats, treatment of burrows, and ensuring that preventive measures are in place. Residents are encouraged to report rat sightings to the Health Department or by using our: Online Rat Reporting Form

Keeping chickens also has a high potential to create odors, feces, food spillage, noise and attract other predators, many of which already present a problem for homeowners in Skokie, such as: Skunks, Coyotes, Raccoons, Foxes, Feral and domestic cats and Neighborhood dogs.

In communities where backyard chicken farming is allowed a common problem of “poultry abandonment” has been documented. When chickens get to be 2 to 3 years of age, their best egg-producing days are behind them. Unfortunately, many local chicken farmers decide to simply dump aging hens in local parks or forest preserve areas. The problem of abandoned chickens is further burdening local animal shelters, and chicken rescue groups have seen a rise in calls about discarded poultry.

Lastly, the Health risks associated with keeping Chicken is an enormous concern. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recent outbreaks of Salmonella Infections Linked to Backyard Poultry was documented in 2019. The outbreaks in 2019 represent the largest recorded number of people to become sick with Salmonella after contact with backyard poultry.

1,134 people were infected with the outbreak strains of Salmonella and were reported from 49 states and the District of Columbia.

4. Do I need any vaccinations when I travel outside the United States?: Depending on your travel itinerary, vaccinations are required to enter certain countries. While these centers are meant for short-term, daytime use, many are prepared to expand hours.

How do residents report crime tips or suspicious activity?: Any action that requires immediate police assistance, including suspicious persons or activities occurring at the moment, should be called in to the police dispatch center at 9-1-1 for emergencies and at 847-982-5900 for non-emergencies.

Citizens with information about a crime, suspicious persons or activities that have already occurred, or the whereabouts of a wanted suspect can call the Crime Tip Hotline at 847-933-TIPS (8477). Any information regarding suspicious activity or known criminal activity can be reported anonymously. However, it is encouraged that when information is provided to the police department, citizens give contact information so that police officers can then follow up with updates on the information provided.

4. Can the Skokie Police Department put a special watch over my home while I am on vacation?: Yes. Residents who will be away for an extended period of time can call the police non-emergency number at 847-982-5900 and ask that their home be placed on a “Vacation Watch”. Police will conduct extra patrols on the home specifically looking for suspicious activity. Putting your property on the “Vacation Watch” list also provides the Skokie Police Department with a way to contact you if there is an issue at your home.

5. How does the Skokie Police Department follow up with residents and business owners whose homes or businesses have been burglarized?: When a burglary to a residence or business occurs and the Skokie Police Department is contacted, officers are dispatched and make sure that the area is checked for any possible offenders. An initial investigation is conducted by that officer and any and witnesses are interviewed for information that could assist in the investigation.

Burglary cases are given to detectives who specialize in the investigation of residential and business burglaries. Detectives review all initial reports including evidence reports and make contact with the victim. The detectives then work to develop information through crime patterns, known intelligence and evidence recovered, to successfully solve these cases.

After the Police Department responds to two false alarms in one calendar year, additional false alarm responses will be assessed a charge. Yes, but Animal Control does not recommend using traps given traps are baited with various foods such as peanut butter, bread, nuts, seeds, fruit, tuna fish, cat food, sardines, etc. Using a trap oftentimes attracts more wildlife to your property creating new wildlife problems for you.

Instead, Animal Control strongly encourages residents to “harass” animals off the property instead of trapping. Click here for details regarding animal harassment techniques.

In instances where a trap is issued, residents are responsible for picking up the trap from the Skokie Police Department front desk located at 7300 Niles Center Rd., Skokie, IL 60077. 4. Can I request a trap for animals located in a living space at my residence?

Animal Control will first respond to your location to capture animals located in your building. If Animal Control cannot locate or capture the animal, a trap will be set. It is required that you sign a trap agreement before a trap is issued. Click here to see a copy of the trap agreement.

Animal Control does not capture or trap animals located in walls or attics. In such instances, it is recommended you contact a private wildlife removal service.

1. When will my alley be graded?: The Village attempts to grade each of its 65 miles of alley every year. Weather, in particular rain, can cause alley grading to be delayed, as the alleys need to be clear of standing water prior to grading. For more information, visit our Streets & Alleys page.

2. My backyard floods - what can the Village do to help me?: The Building Division offers a backyard flooding assistance program. Building staff will work with property owners to assess the situation and design a drainage solution. While the cost of the installation is borne by the property owner, Building Division staff will assist by designing a solution. Visit our Community Development page for details.

3. Are all streets in the Village under Village jurisdiction?: No, some streets are under the jurisdiction of Skokie, or Cook County or Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). For a complete list of the jurisdictions, visit our

4. Who do I report a damaged or a burnt out street or alley light to?: Different entities are responsible for different street and alley lights in Skokie. If you have a damaged or burnt out street or alley light, you can report it to the Village’s Engineering Division at 847-933-8231 and they will ensure the proper entities are notified.

5. Will the Village provide lighting for the alley behind my home?: Yes. If you are interested in having a light placed in your alley, please call the Engineering Division at 847-933-8231. Public Works staff will then determine if your alley has the necessary infrastructure to support a light. If the necessary infrastructure is in place, an alley light will be installed and you will be billed a flat fee of $95 annually. This fee covers the costs of the light, its installation and the electricity supply.

6. Do you have any advice on how I can avoid or deal with frozen pipes?

During freezing conditions, homeowners should take the following precautions to prevent their pipes from freezing:

• Allow a continuous trickle of water to flow through faucet(s) to help minimize the chances of freezing pipes.

• Seal any leaks around doors or windows to reduce drafts that could lead to pipes freezing.

1. Does the Village prune the parkway tree in front of my home?: Yes. The Village maintains all trees on public parkways. Each parkway tree is pruned every five to seven years during winter months from November through March. This work is performed by a qualified contractor. Trees are pruned in order to remove hazardous deadwood, eliminate interference with low limbs, clear stop signs, street lights and buildings, reduce the effects of wind and ice on branch stability and repair storm damaged limbs. Parkway tree pruning is vital for the continued growth and health of a tree.

2. Does the Village have a parkway tree planting program?: Yes. Residents with an open planting space on their parkway are invited to contribute to the Village's urban forest by planting a new tree in their parkway. The Village pays 50% of the costs to plant a new tree. The homeowner may select from a list of suitable parkway trees that are offered for both the fall and spring planting seasons. 3. Is Dutch Elm Disease active in Skokie?: Yes. Dutch Elm Disease (DED) is an aggressive pathogen that kills trees and is considered the most costly shade-tree disease. Unfortunately, the disease is still active in Skokie because there are still more than 400 susceptible parkway elms. The good news is that DED can be managed so that minimal trees are impacted. The removal of infected or dead elm wood is the most important control of DED. Elm bark beetles that spread the disease breed in this old wood. If you spot an American elm that is losing its leaves, wilting or turning yellow well before the fall, please call the Forestry Division.

4. Does the Village provide any cost sharing to treat Dutch Elm Disease?: Yes. The Village provides a 50/50 cost share fungicide treatment program for parkway elms to help control the disease. Residents who have an American elm are eligible to participate in this program. The treatment consists of injecting a liquid fungicide into the water-conducting tissue of the tree. It has a very good success rate in preventing DED infection from the feeding of elm bark beetles for up to three years. After three years, the tree must be retreated for continued protection from DED. Residents with a private elm may contact the Village's contractor to have their tree treated for the same cost.

5. What is the Village doing to control the Emerald Ash Borer?: In summer 2006, the destructive insect was found in several nearby towns, and Skokie is in the quarantine area established by the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA). In April 2007, the IDOA confirmed the presence of the emerald ash borer in a tree at Crawford and Grant Avenues in northeast Skokie. Skokie has approximately 3,000 ash trees, representing 12% of the Village's 24,000 trees growing on public property. Each year, Village foresters perform a systematic survey of all parkway ash trees. Those determined to be in poor condition or with evidence of emerald ash borer infestation are marked with white paint for removal. Residents are notified if a tree on their parkway will be removed. The Village does not offer financial assistance for the removal of trees on private property. Residents concerned about an ash tree on their property are encouraged to call an International Society of Arboriculture-certified arborist who has signed the "Emerald Ash Borer Compliance Agreement" with the IDOA.

6. How often should I water my trees during dry periods?: If you have a new or young tree in your parkway or on your property, keep it healthy by watering it during dry periods. New trees need about one inch of rain per week to become established. If they do not receive this rain, provide a deep soak by gently running the hose at the base of the tree for about an hour. Maintaining a ring of mulch around the base of the tree two to three inches deep will keep the soil moist longer. However, do not pile or place mulch against the trunk of the tree; this will cause the bark to rot and decay, which will eventually kill the tree.

The once-weekly refuse collection program is weekly refuse collection for all Village of Skokie residents living in single-family homes and housing with four or fewer units. Each single-family household is provided with a 95-gallon refuse container for storage of up to 200 pounds of household refuse.

4. Does once-weekly refuse collection apply to commercial customers?: No. Residential service for buildings that have five or more units as well as commercial service will remain the same.

5. Why is the Village switching to once-weekly refuse collection?: Optimizing refuse service provides multiple benefits that support the Village of Skokie’s Environmental Sustainability Plan. After a study conducted by Village staff showed that a majority of residents did not need a second pickup, the Sustainability Environmental Advisory Commission held public listening sessions in November 2021 and then recommended the change. After two public meetings and soliciting input from residents, the Village Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve this plan in November 2022.

7. Why should I recycle when only a small amount is recycled when it gets to the sorting plant?: This is a common myth. While recycling efficacy did go down due to COVID, the state-of-the-art recycling plant run by Lakeshore Recycling Systems currently manages to recycle over 70 percent of what it takes in. Through further public education and technological advances, that rate will continue to grow.

8. Will this increase environmental health concerns such as unpleasant odors and pest nuisances?

The Village of Skokie has a robust rodent management program that includes resident and business education, property inspections and treatment when rat activity is observed. In addition, the Village offers both compost pickup by paid subscription and free compost drop-off sites throughout the community. Removing compostable materials from the refuse toter and placing them in a sealed five-gallon bucket reduces odor and makes the trash less attractive to rodents and other pests.

To further minimize the potential for odors and pests, residents should:

Place trash in sealed bags prior to place into refuse toter.
Keep the refuse toter lid closed
Place the refuse toter in a shaded area during warmer months
Double-bag diapers, pet waste or other items with strong odors prior to placing them in the refuse toter
Practice good “toter hygiene” by rinsing out your toter as soon as possible if a bag rips or leaks
If you notice holes in your toter or damage to your toter lid, residents can request a new toter online by selecting “Request a new Recycling/Refuse Cart or Lid” or by calling Public Works at 847-933-8427.

9. What if I have more trash than fits in the toter?: If you find that you have additional bags of trash during a given week, you can place sealed trash bags on top of your toter on collection day, not before. Do not place bags on the ground.

10. Can I request a second toter?

As one of the actions under the Waste Management section of the Environmental Sustainability Plan, the transition to once-weekly refuse collection is intended to encourage residents to reduce the amount of material that is being sent to the landfills by recycling and composting. That being said, we do recognize that there will be some households that truly need a second toter.

Following an initial sixty day once-per-week service start up period, residents can request a second toter online by selecting “Request a new Recycling/Refuse Cart or Lid” or by calling Public Works at 847-933-8427. Properties will be evaluated for a second toter on a case-by-case basis.

11. How can I reduce the amount of refuse from my household?

The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that 25 percent of residential refuse is made up of compostable materials and that 30 to 40 percent is recyclable. Make sure that you are disposing of items appropriately:

Compost your food scraps
Recycle right
Recycle clothing and other textiles
Refer to the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County’s A-Z Reuse/Recycle directory for resources on recycling or donating specialty items
Most importantly, practice source reduction. Stop waste before it is generated by using reusable water bottles and shopping bags, checking out books at the library instead of purchasing, borrowing items from friends and neighbors – there are many ways to reduce waste.

13. Will the Village’s quarterly refuse fee change with the onset of once-weekly refuse collection?

Skokie’s neighboring suburban communities already have once-weekly service and Skokie’s refuse fee of $9.25 per month is much lower than theirs which range from $17 to $30 per month. In fact, our current fee covers less than 1/3 of the expense of the program. So, while the refuse fee will remain unchanged, transitioning to once-weekly collection will help minimize rate increases in the long-term.

In addition, a study done by Public Works showed that 85% of single-family households did not need/use the second refuse pickup so instead the Village of Skokie is adding composting services through the new drop-off composting sites and by sponsoring a 15% discount for anyone that signs up for a new annual curbside composting service through Collective Resource.

1. What should I do if my refuse or recycling cart is damaged?: Please contact the Public Works Department, who will determine if cart patching is possible, or if replacement of the lid, body or both components is necessary. The Refuse Collection Division replaces carts systematically and does not replace carts on a call-in basis.

2. When will my refuse cart be emptied?: Collections are made twice per week for residents who reside in single-family homes. Residents who live north of Greenleaf have their containers emptied on Mondays and Thursdays. Residents that live south of Greenleaf have their containers emptied on Tuesdays and Fridays.

3. When is yard waste collected?: Brush and yard debris are collected every Wednesday from early April through mid-November, and requests are no longer required for collection. Yard waste must be set out in 30-gallon, biodegradable paper bags; brush can be tied in small bundles with biodegradable twine or string, not exceeding four feet in length. The Village of Skokie does not collect grass clippings, dirt, or logs. On weeks with a Monday holiday, such as Memorial Day and Labor Day, and sometimes Fourth of July, yard waste is collected on the Saturday following the holiday.

4. How should materials be prepared for collection?: General household refuse must be drained of surplus liquids, bagged and securely tied. Yard Waste must be contained in paper yard waste bags. Small and large brush must bagged or bundled. Each branch cannot exceed three inches in diameter and cannot extend longer than five feet in length. Yard waste bags may not exceed 40 pounds per bag. Construction waste, except for small do-it-yourself jobs, is not collected. Any waste from small, do-it-yourself jobs must be placed in boxes or waterproof bags, no heavier than 40 pounds. Household hazardous waste can be collected in small amounts if it is contained in sealed containers. Paint is collected as long as it is dried prior to collection. Needles are also collected, but must be placed in a sharps container. The Village does not collect motor oil and lead batteries. Recycling materials must be placed in the recycling cart for collection. All cans, cartons and jars must be rinsed prior to disposal. Motor oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze and charcoal lighter fluid containers are not accepted.

5. Where can I recycle my CFL bulbs?: You may recycle used CFL bulbs at the Skokie Health Department, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For specific information, please call the Skokie Health Department at 847-933-8252.

6. Does the Skokie Health Department offer recycling opportunities?

Yes, the Skokie Health Department has a variety of recycling/disposal programs available to residents. These include:

Compact fluorescent light bulb recycling
Expired / unused medicine disposal
Household battery recycling
Used syringe disposal

1. When does the Village plow my street? Sidewalk? Alley?: Public Works plows Village-owned or maintained streets when snow accumulation reaches at least two inches. Sidewalks are the next priority. The sidewalk plow fleet is deployed when snow accumulation reaches at least four inches. Alley plowing is the last priority, alleys are cleared when snow accumulation reaches six inches.

2. What should I do with my car if it is parking on the street while I'm on vacation or at work and it snows?: Residents who do not have off-street parking facilities such as a garage, driveway or slab need to make arrangements to either have their car moved by a friend or neighbor, or have their car stored at a garage during winter vacations to ensure that they are not in violation of the Alternate-Side Parking Program.

3. Can I park on either side of the street once the street is plowed?: No, even after the street is plowed, vehicles must remain parked on the designated side of the street until 6 p.m. This allows Public Works to plow a second time if necessary. At 6 p.m., a siren will sound notifying residents that vehicles may be parked on either side of the street.

4. My vehicle was towed due to a violation of the alternate-side parking program. Where can I pick it up?: If your vehicle has been towed due to a violation of the Village's snow ordinance, contact the Skokie Police Department at 847-982-5900.

5. Why is snow pushed into my driveway by snowplows?: As the plows pass driveways, snow will roll off the edge of the side-discharge snowplow into the driveway, producing an unavoidable result.

6. Every time a snowplow comes down my alley, it plows the snow up against my garage and I have to shovel out. Why does this happen?: V-shaped snow plows are used to clear alleys of snow. These type of plows distribute snow evenly to both sides of the alley. It is not possible for the driver to pick up the plow in the middle of an alley.

7. I have a serious medical condition. Can you plow my street first in case there is an emergency and an ambulance needs to get through?: Anyone needing an ambulance in a medical emergency should call the Fire Department by dialing 9-1-1, and all necessary emergency steps will be coordinated. The potential for a medical emergency, however, does not warrant priority snow removal treatment. If a medical emergency occurs, the Public Works and Fire Departments will work together to provide immediate emergency help to the patient.

8. My garbage has not been picked up yet, even though it's my regular collection day. When will it be picked up?: During snow removal operations, crews and equipment might not be available to pick up garbage until later in the day or, during heavier snow, later in the week. The Village will pick up your garbage as soon as possible.

9. Are all streets in the Village under Village jurisdiction?

4. Will my paved alley be swept?: Yes. The Public Works Department makes every effort to sweep concrete alleys depending on time and operational needs on a monthly basis. Delays sometimes occur due to inclement weather, equipment repairs, and holidays.

5. How often are the multi-family areas swept?: The Public Works Department makes every effort to sweep multi-family residential areas monthly, beginning the first full week of the month on Wednesday and Thursday, except in the month of November. Delays sometimes occur due to inclement weather, equipment repairs and holidays.

6. I live in a multi-family area. Will I receive notification about street sweeping?: Yes. The days and times of street sweeping in multi-family areas will be posted on parkway trees with cardboard signs at least 24 hours prior to sweeping. The sweeping will occur on one side of the street on one day, with the alternate side swept the next day.

7. If I live in a multi-family area and don’t move my car, will I be ticketed?: To ensure that street sweeping is effective, multi-family areas residents must remove parked vehicles from the street during scheduled street sweeping days. Vehicles not moved from multi-family areas by 9 a.m. will be ticketed.

8. Does the Village sweep any other areas besides the residential and multi-family streets?

Yes:

Oakton Street, the Lincoln Avenue Business District and Village parking lots are swept every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Crawford Avenue, Dempster Street, and Gross Point Road are swept every Tuesday.
Main Street is swept every Wednesday.
Skokie Boulevard, Old Orchard Road, and Golf Road are swept every Thursday.
Touhy Avenue, Niles Center Road from Howard to Pratt Avenue, and the industrial areas are swept once a month on a Thursday.

9. How do I get my leaves collected in the fall?: There are two ways to dispose of your leaves. You may rake your leaves to the curb where they are collected once per week. Every street is scheduled for a weekly collection. However, collection schedules vary due to leaf volume and weather. 2. How do I connect to SkokieLink?: Any Wi-Fi-enabled device (PDA or laptop) connects to SkokieLink. These devices are also known as 802.11 devices. A Wi-Fi-enabled device connects to SkokieLink without the addition of special software. The recommended computer requirements are Windows XP or Mac OS X 10.4 and above with airport drivers.

Other computers still work but may need the addition of a Wi-Fi card. Local computer stores can assist you with determining the Wi-Fi capability of your particular device. 2. I use my "B" plated vehicle for both a commercial and non-commercial use. May I park it on the street in front of my house during the evening hours?: If your vehicle has commercial markings (for instance a company name and phone number), you may not park on a residential street or driveway.

3. If I do not have a garage, may I park my commercial vehicle in my driveway?: No, you will need to make arrangements to park your vehicle elsewhere.

4. My pickup truck has a plow attached to the front, and a small storage chest in the bed during the winter season only. Does this prohibit me from parking on a residential property or street?: Yes, when a plow or other auxiliary equipment is placed on a vehicle, it may not be parked on a residential street or driveway.
